Thinking about getting Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal offers the perfect solution to getting rid of unwanted hair that you usually have to spend money and time on waxing and shaving! Excess hair often greatly reduces a person’s self-confidence and hugely impacts on their life. To help you decide whether Laser Hair Removal is the treatment for you, we have put together some frequently asked questions below…

What is a patch test?

This is the procedure which allows us to check that your skin is suitable for laser hair removal. A general inspection of your skin will take place and then a small area will be exposed to the laser light. In addition to ensuring no adverse reactions occur, this also provides us with the opportunity to tailor the machine’s settings to your personal requirements.

Am I suitable for laser hair removal?

Lasers target pigment so as long as your hair is not red, white or grey then you are likely to be a suitable candidate for laser hair removal.

How often will I need treatment?

You must have around 6 to 8 treatments to get the optimum benefit. Facial laser hair treatments can be every 4 weeks and body laser hair removal treatments are performed every 6 weeks.

Are there any side-effects?

For most people the only side-effect reported is a mild redness. For others there may be a little sensitivity in the area that has been treated, Aloe Vera gel can usually be applied to calm this down. How should I prepare before a treatment?

How should I prepare before a treatment?

Avoid any other hair removal methods such as waxing, threading or hair removal creams for 6 weeks before the treatment. Avoid sun exposure which makes laser hair removal less effective and causes complications. We will discuss any medications in detail at your consultation. What about aftercare?

What about aftercare?

After the laser treatment avoid heat stimulation such as hot baths or showers, saunas, and steam. Avoid cardiovascular exercise and swimming as the chemicals in the water may cause irritation. Our team is always available to provide continuing advice and support even after your final session is complete.
